Glycerin as an alternative heating fuel.
There are modified waste oil burners available to use with glycerin, but in most cases the glycerin must be premixed or co-burned with a combustion enhancer, most commonly fuel or waste oil. Since the BTU content of such enhancers can be double that of glycerin, and with mixing ratios approaching 50/50, most of the heat of combustion can be from the added combustion enhancer. In a sense, glycerin is not burned, it is incinerated, along with your heating dollars!
